As part of our sustainability policy, our Tessera carpet tiles all have an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).

This declaration, which is transparent and third-party verified, is based on a technique which assess environmental impacts associated with all the stages of a product’s life from raw material extraction through materials processing, manufacture, distribution, use, repair and maintenance, to ultimate disposal or recycling.

This technique takes all the following aspects into account: environmental impact of raw material acquisition, energy use and efficiency, content of materials and chemical substances, emissions to air, soil and water and waste generation.

GUT Label

Forbo Flooring carpet tiles have received the GUT label. This means all Tessera and Wesbond ranges have passed the latest and severe testing on chemicals and emissions to ensure consumers safety.

BREEAM Ratings

BREEAM is one of the most well-known environmental assessment for buildings. The table below shows all of our generic and product specific BREEAM ratings, including our Tessera carpet tiles.

Ska rating is an environmental assessment method, benchmark and standard owned by RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors).

It’s for use in non-domestic fit outs and is mainly used in the office, retail and higher education sectors. Many of Forbo’s ranges contribute to the Ska rating schemes.
