ODBC Sponsors Night
It is always such a pleasure to visit Olveston and District Bowling Club (ODBC) in Old Down. We have been sponsoring this amazing Bowls Club for a few years, and Sponsor Nights are always fun. We get to watch a bit of Bowls, but mainly socialise with some amazing people (in the bar), and then eat some amazing hot dogs. And the coffee was great too – thanks George for making them for me.

Write up from ODBC for our Sponsors Night August 2025
Monday the 18th of August was Phoenix Flooring’s sponsored club night and even with this being holiday period, all six rinks were in use with each team trying hard to end up with the highest shot difference. At the end, it was close with the winning rink on plus twelve shots.
It was great to have Michelle and Nigel from Phoenix Flooring on hand to present the prizes to Dianne Hirst, Peggy Belbin and Anne Mullan.
With a fourth bottle still sitting on the table, Nigel asked a question on how many square meters of carpet it took to cover our pavilion floor? Numbers started flying about but it was Dave Derham who came up with the closest answer to lift the fourth bottle. Well done to all our winners.
Beattie did another sterling job of producing her tasty hotdogs with Brenda helping to serve them up. Michelle thanked Beattie and commented on how tasty they were and
Mike Bovill being kept busy covering the bar. A very successful team effort.
