Whilst for most of us being told we have a heat wave on the way is idyllic – summer is coming, flowers are blooming, the grass is growing. Allergy and asthma suffers can have carpets. Stick with man made carpets. The blends are constructed out of lab fibres, which repels allergens. Avoid wool as mould can thrive in it. Always go for short twist pile carpets, thus fewer places for allergens.

Regular vacuuming is very important, this may seem obvious but maintaining a clean home does have positive effects on your mental and physical health. Contrary to popular belief carpets can improve air quality and if vacuumed regularly it removes traces of dirt, dust mites and allergens, thus reducing the amount of allergens in the home.

Annual deep cleaning of your carpet is recommended – not only does it keep your carpet looking like new, it can reduce or completely remove all allergens.
